Anxiety Bracelets with Essential Oils

The use of essential oils is part of a natural health practice called aromatherapy. It can also be used as a part of the mindset technique known as anchoring. You can gain the benefits of both of these practices by adding essential oils to the porous lava stone beads of your anxiety bracelet.

But bracelets provide a convenient way to take the benefits of aromatherapy with you wherever you go. This is ideal for gaining the calming benefits of these scents when you’re dealing with anxiety-inducing situations, which often happen away from home. For example, you could be facing anxiety from a social situation or from riding on an airplane. In these scenarios, you’ll easily be able to bring essential oils with you through your bracelet. Just be mindful not to use too much if you’ll be in a tight space where other people could be irritated by the scent.

Believe it or not, many scientific studies support health-related benefits of essential oils, including for mental health purposes. In relation to using lavender for anxiety, a study in the journal The Mental Health Clinician found lavender oil effective for short-term relief of anxiety disorders. The researchers found it a reasonable alternative to anti-anxiety medications because it works faster without the side effects that can come with this type of medication.

Essential Oils for Anchoring

Aromatherapy is not the only benefit of adding essential oils to your anxiety bracelet. You can also use essential oils to anchor yourself through scent. This is part of a technique known as neuro-linguistic programming (NLP).

When you listen to a meditation that puts your mind into a calm and tranquil state and then associate the smell of the oil with that state, you can later go back to that state of calmness just by smelling the scent again. When you add an essential oil to the lava stone beads of your bracelet, you are able to smell the bracelet to enter your tranquil state of mind. You can also achieve this effect by touching the main bead of the bracelet. The brain learns to associate the senses of smell and touch of the bracelet with the calm state you achieved during the meditation.
